Frequently Asked Questions:

The following are most asked questions about DVMC. In an effort to cut down on Q and A traffic and misleading information this Q and A document has been prepared for potential members

1. Are you a 1% club?....No, we are not 1%. It would conflict with our employment as soldiers and Government workers. We do have an order of precedent however which is as follows: Family, Job and then Club in that order.

2. Will being deployed automatically grant me membership?....No! Congratulations on doing what you should’ve done, but that doesn’t make you a member with us. We have a theory that every contract the government enters always goes to the lowest bidder. It works that way with personnel too. Se even though you were there it doesn’t qualify you to be one of us. There is a strict standard to be met.

3. Are there any active duty members?....Yes

4. How many members do you already have?....Membership is club business and it isn’t discussed with nonmembers for several good reasons. However our membership is growing more each day.

5. How is your club run?....We have a rank structure and disciplined members. We are partially democratic and vote on several issues but the President of the chapter has final say on most issues.

6. Are you a drug free club?....Well, it’s a military club so you shouldn’t be asking that question. If you are out or have retired then what you do is your business, but you’d better not put a member in jeopardy because you were -caked up. Drugs will not be tolerated on any club function.

7. What if I join and decide I want to get out later?....If you’re asking that question then you don’t need to join. If you HAVE to leave you can return your colors and bow out gracefully. If you want to quit us then you were never a bro in the first place.

8. How much is it going to cost?....We have a joining fee and membership dues. They are both a small price to pay for the brotherhood you get in return. The joining fee pays for your patches if you get in. The dues...well we are a nonprofit organization but require money to operate. It all goes back into the club though.

9. Can cops ride with us?....We suggest the cops ride with the blue knights. We are in no way affiliated with any law enforcement ,period.

10. Will we go to bike rallies?....Absolutely! Most rallies are club events. And your ole lady’s problem with what goes on there is just that her problem. Out of line wives won’t be tolerated. That is your problem and it will stay between you and her.

11. Do you wear support patches?....No! Support patches create a number of problems for a military club especially since we are a national club. In the interest of staying neutral with all the !%ers we DO NOT wear support patches, however we extend our respect to the big dogs on the porch.

12. Is there a racial barrier to worry about?...No Stupid! It’s a military club, the only colors that matter to us are the colors we fly. If Race matters to you then we don’t need you.

13. What if I want to join and don’t/can’t ride or afford a bike?....You are still in luck, we have a wonderful support group and a position just for you.

14. What about disabled vets?....WE WELCOME YOU! Anything we can do to help just let us know. (It’s all about you)

15. DO you have female members?....no

16. Will we show up at anti war rallies?.... Once again...we are a military club. Let’s just say we won’t be doing them any favors....ha, ha, ha

17. Are you affiliated with Viet Nam Vets MC ? No we extend our respect to the Viet Nam Vets MC but have no connection to them what so ever.

18. How do I become a member? …… First you need become a club guest. Once you have been accepted as a club guest and participate in our functions as a guest you can approach a patch holder to sponsor you as a prospect. Once you are brought in as a prospect you will prospect for an undisclosed amount of time. Upon graduating your prospect period you will voted on whether to bring you into the club or not. Once you are brought in you will become a probationary desert vet. Your bottom rocker then will be changed from prospect to probationary. Your probationary time is undisclosed as well. When the club feels you have graduated your probationary period the matter will be voted on and you will attend a patch holding ceremony.
